Finalising my patterns for the collection. 

I went to Statens museum for Kunst yesterday- an amazing museum in the Botanic gardens in central Copenhagen- which houses a permanent (and free) French art collection from 1905-1930- Matisse and Dufy amongst others. Helped inspire some more patterns and illustrations.

learning to draw on the computer has been a massive struggle for me, however, I've finally turned a corner and am managing to make my computer generated type almost as pretty as my hand drawn type! :)

Aarhus Visual Identity

Some experimentations for my current project at Danmarks Designskole- the brief is to design the visual identity of the Danish city Aarhus as European Capital of Culture 2017. 

Aarhus project

Currently in the middle of font lab hell...aka learning how to design font on computers. Turns out it's hard, but I'm getting there. What I'm really enjoying however is doing these illustrations...much more fun :) 

A couple of illustrations; the bottom one is from a book of stories a wrote about people's opinions and relationships with lipstick. The top one is a new page from a set of illustrations I'm currently doing about sex and relationships. 

This is a selection of stories I'm working on...based on all the people I've ever shnogged ;)...alias names used obvs. 

Pages from a fold out map I've just printed (digital and screen printed) for my self negotiated project. Our last project before the summer...how did this year go so fast! 

Both illustrations have been created as visuals accompanying a story I have written about an island with a curse: who ever looks at it sees the island as they would most desire it to be: a beach, a tropical island, a natty metropolis. But when you arrive on the island it is a hidden trap ruled by an evil dictator. 
hmmmmmm. what goes on in my sub conscious....

Sunlight in Glasgow....rare.

Life has been a bit hectic, but even so have found time to experiment with materials for my personal project on worship. This is a wee collage I made last night. To be made into possibly a piece of jewellery, possibly something else.

Sketchbook work in progress for a personal project about natural formations. Here I'm playing with surface textures and juxtaposing shapes to create more interesting outcomes. I'm also particularly interested in the hexagon which is one of the most perfect shapes in nature- replicating itself exactly.
